【摘要】:Thistestmethodisnotrecommendedforacceptancetestingduetoitspoorbetween-laboratoryprecision.Insomecasesthepurchaserandthesellermayhavetotestacommercialshipmentofoneormorespecificmaterialsbythebestavailablemethodeventhoughthemethodhasnotbeenrecommendedforacceptancetestingofcommercialshipments.Insuchacase,ifthereisadisagreementarisingfromdifferencesinvaluesreportedbythepurchaserandthesellerwhenusingthismethodforacceptancetesting,thestatisticalbias,ifany,betweenthelaboratoryofthepurchaserandthelaboratoryofthesellershouldbedeterminedwitheachcomparisonbeingbasedontestingspecimensrandomlydrawnfromonesampleofmaterialofthetypebeingtested.Aknowledgeoftheaveragelengthandlengthdistributionoffibersisimportanttofiberprocessors.Thismethodisusefulforinplantcontroltestingandforresearchpurposes.1.1Thistestmethodcoverstheestimationoftheaveragefiberlengthandlengthdistributionofwoolinnonparallelassemblies,suchasscouredwool,andincardsliver.1.2Thistestmethodisapplicabletomanyfibersotherthanwoolifintheformofanonparallelassemblyorinacardsliver.1.3Thistestmethodisnotapplicabletounscouredwoolortowooltop.1.4Thistestmethodspecificallyrequireslengthininchesandmassinmetricunits,andisnotcontrarytoASTMpolicy.Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Theinformationinparenthesesisforinformationonly.Note1--ThedeterminationofstaplelengthofgreasewooliscoveredinMethodD1234,SamplingandTestingStapleLengthofGreaseWool,andtheaveragelengthoffibersinwooltopiscoveredinTestMethodD519.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.

【摘要】:Thistestmethodisnotrecommendedforacceptancetestingduetoitspoorbetween-laboratoryprecision.Insomecasesthepurchaserandthesellermayhavetotestacommercialshipmentofoneormorespecificmaterialsbythebestavailablemethodeventhoughthemethodhasnotbeenrecommendedforacceptancetestingofcommercialshipments.Insuchacase,ifthereisadisagreementarisingfromdifferencesinvaluesreportedbythepurchaserandthesellerwhenusingthismethodforacceptancetesting,thestatisticalbias,ifany,betweenthelaboratoryofthepurchaserandthelaboratoryofthesellershouldbedeterminedwitheachcomparisonbeingbasedontestingspecimensrandomlydrawnfromonesampleofmaterialofthetypebeingtested.Aknowledgeoftheaveragelengthandlengthdistributionoffibersisimportanttofiberprocessors.Thismethodisusefulforinplantcontroltestingandforresearchpurposes.1.1Thistestmethodcoverstheestimationoftheaveragefiberlengthandlengthdistributionofwoolinnonparallelassemblies,suchasscouredwool,andincardsliver.1.2Thistestmethodisapplicabletomanyfibersotherthanwoolifintheformofanonparallelassemblyorinacardsliver.1.3Thistestmethodisnotapplicabletounscouredwoolortowooltop.1.4Thistestmethodspecificallyrequireslengthininchesandmassinmetricunits,andisnotcontrarytoASTMpolicy.Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Theinformationinparenthesesisforinformationonly.Note1--ThedeterminationofstaplelengthofgreasewooliscoveredinMethodD1234,SamplingandTestingStapleLengthofGreaseWool,andtheaveragelengthoffibersinwooltopiscoveredinTestMethodD519.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
